The British Government has asked Panama to withdraw the registration of two ships flying its flag which Britain suspects are intended for use as blockade runners to Palestine, a Foreign Office spokesman announced today.

The ships, the Pan Crescent and the Pan York, are at present in the Rumanian port of Constanza. They have been under British surveillance for the last six weeks. The vessels are owned by a New York firm.
