The Hadassah will plant a 10,000-tree forest in Palestine in honor of the United Nations, it was announced today at a reception tendered by the organization’s national board for members of the Jewish Agency executive and the World Zionist Organization’s Political Advisory Committee.

At the same time, it was announced that some 900 Hadassah chapters throughout the country would be asked to increase their voluntary contributions to the organization’s social welfare program in Palestine by 50 percent this year. In a series of telegrams President Truman was thanked for the American Government’s role in achieving the U.N. partition decision, and American representatives at the U.N. Nerschel Johnson, Warren Austin and Maj. Gen. John Hilldring wore praised for their activities.
