The issue of racial discrimination in Britain was ## in Parliament today when Home Secretary James Chuter Ede was asked to specify ## the government intends to do concerning recent racist statements of Sir Oswald ##ley, pre-war British fascist leader, who is attempting a comeback.
Ede stated that strengthening existing laws to make illegal propaganda advo##ing racial discrimination is being considered. He told Commons that when Mosley ## released from war-time detention, he was placed under a ban on all political ##vities, but that the ban was wiped out with the expiration of a number of war## defense regulations. He added, however, that a prohibition of the wearing of ## forms by political groups is still in effect and “will be most strictly enforced.”
