Rabbi Meir Berlin, president of the World Mizrachi organization, who arrived in this country from Palestine several days ago, today expressed the gratitude of the Jews of Palestine to the United States and Russia and to all the other U.N. members who made possible the establishment of a Jewish state. He spoke at a press conference at the Hotel McAlpin.

Pointing out that the Jews received less of Palestine than they sought, Rabbi Berlin declared that Britain had served as a “model of Liberty and a source of help to all persecuted people” in the days of the Balfour Declaration and that the friendship between the Jews and the British people would be re-established shortly.
