Jewish Agency circles here are not inclined to attach much significance to the resignation yesterday of Dr. Moshe Sneh, former head of the Haganah and member of the Agency executive, although no members of the London office will make an official statement until they have had an opportunity to contect their colleagues in Jerusalem.
The general opinion seems to be that Dr. Sneh’s insistence that the Agency maintain closer relations with countries of Eastern Europe, as well as with the
Regarding Dr. Sneh’s charges that the Agency vetoed the sailing of 15,000 ##isaless immigrants from Rumania, local Agency circles insist that the Agency executive does not issue directies in such matters, but merely expresses its views as to the desirability of such actions, and that its views may change in line with charges in the general political situation.Dr. Sneh’s attack on the current talks in London between Agency leaders and the British Government brought forth the explanation that since the conversations are ##onfined to the security situation, which is clearly within the compotence of the British Government, it is proper for the Agency to participate in such meetings, was also pointed out that such talks would be proper even after the U.N. Impiemontation Commission begins functioning in Palestine, as long as the Mandate is still in the hands of Britain.
