In a New year’s message released here today, William H. Tuck, executive secretary of the Preparatory Commission of the International Refugee Organization, urged all nations “to open their doors to the European displaced persons in 1948, and thus and the tragic story of homelessness which began 15 years ago.

“Most DP’s are young, productive men and women, skilled in vocations the world needs badly,” Tuck declared. “Don’t make them wait too long for a chance for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”

Tuck pointed out that the commission’s statistical survey released last night shows that 87 percent’ of the DP’s are under 45 years of age, proving that the vast majority of them are able to work and give full value to any nations far-sighted enough to admit them.
