Hungarian Jews Celebrate Anniversary of Liberation from Budapest Ghetto

Thousands of Jews crowded into the Great Synagogue today to attend the anniversary of the liberation of the Hungarian Jews from the Budapest ghetto by the Soviet army.

Special prayers of thanksgiving offered and the establishment of the Jewish state is Palestine was hailed. Representative of the government and the Soviet army were present as well as delegate from all the Jewish organizations in the country, including the Joint Distribution Committee.
