Representatives of leading Jewish organizations in Britain will meet early next week to discuss plans for pressing for restitution of confiscated and stolen Jewish property in the British zone of Germany, it was disclosed today.

The parley is being called on the heels of yesterday’s meeting of Jewish leader with officials of the Foreign Office’s German Control Section. The outcome of the conversations was that the Jews received a definite promise that they would be informed of any further developments following the return of a Control Section representative who is now in Germany.

The Jews hope to work out a compensation law for the British zone which will meet with the government’s approval. The proposed law would provide for restitution for compensation to both refugees who fled Germany and to Jews who remain there. However, the Jews are particularly concerned over the government’s policy of not talking positive action without the prior approval of local German officials in matters of this kind.
