John Garfield, stage and screen star, was today named winner of the LaGuardia Award for Stage and Screen, according to an announcement by the Non-Sectarian Anti-Nazi League. The award was made because Garfield professionally bad furthered the cause of better understanding among various religion and racial groups, the League announcement said.
