Ordinary International Air Mail Service from Palestine May Be Resumed Soon

Ordinary air mail service from Palestine will probably be resumed this week, it was stated here over the week-end by H.R. Graetz, president of the Haifa Chamber of Shipping, prior to his departure for Switzerland. last week, the U.N. Palestine Commission had reached an agreement with the Haifa member of Shipping for handling international mail in Palestine.

Anticipating fan interruption in communications in Palestine, the U.S. Navy, at the request of the State Department, announced that one Navy officer and 11 men ##e being assigned to establish communication facilities at the U.S. Consulate in Jerusalem. The Navy may move in mobile radio units to carry on in case conditions deteriorate, and such units may also be able to transmit press reports from Palestine on the event that Jerusalem becomes completely isolated, it was learned.
