The Rumanian Cabinet Announced today that it is handing over to the Federation of Jewish Communities a large quantity of valuables, furs and clothing which was taken form Jews Fleeing Rumania during the pro-Nazi Antonescu regime. The goods will be used by the Federation to aid needy Jews.

The Cabinet announcement says that the goods will be transferred to the Federation unless they are claimed by their legal owner, or the owners’ heirs, within six months. Jewish circles welcomed the decision and voiced the belief that the same principle will be applied to all heirless Jewish property still held by the government.

Meanwhile, a group of 36 certificate-bearing Jewish emigrants sailed from Constanza for Palestine today aboard the S.S. Transylvania.
