LONDON (Jun. 13)
Sixteen persons, mostly Jews, were killed and 30 injured today as Arab mobs attacked the Jewish quarter of Tripoli for the second consecutive day. A dusk-to-dawn curfew, imposed last night, was extended from noon today when the second riot was brought under control.
A number of houses were set afire in the Jewish quarter before police halted the rioting, which also spread to other areas of the city. Yesterday ten rioters were killed when police fired on them. A division of British troops, recently brought here from Palestine, are patrolling the streets.
