More than 1,400 delegates from 36 states in all sections of the country gathered here today at the 28th national convention of the Mizrachi Organization of America. A special “Salute to Israel” banquet highlighted the convention’s opening session. Major Aubrey S. Eban, Israeli representative to the United Nations, and Leon Gellman, president of the organization, were-the principal speakers.
The convention’s political session, to be held tomorrow, will hear reports by Dr. Abba Hillel Silver, chairman of the American section of the Jewish Agency executive, Dr. Mordecai ELiash, legal adviser to the Israeli mission at Lake Success, and Rabbi Rolf Gold, chairman of the world Mizrachi executive. The convention will, conclude on Tuesday.
