Jewish Education Board of Chicago Launches Teacher Certification Program

A program of teacher certification for Sunday School instructors has been launched by the Board of Jewish Education of Chicago, to take effect during the coming school term, it was announced today “by Dr. Samuel M. Blumenfeld, Superintendent of Schools for the Board.

A certificate will be awarded those who have had five years of successful teaching experience, or who hold a diploma of the Sunday School Training Course of the College of Jewish Studies, or its equivalent. Provision is made for temporary certification of those who do not fully meet the requirements of training or experience, and for students who may teach in an apprentice capacity while they are pursuing their studies in a recognized school of Jewish learning.
