No copies of Sir Oswald Mosley’s German-language propaganda sheet “Deutsches Flugblatt” reached the British zone of Germany before the government’s ban on it went into effect, the Foreign Office today told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.
A spokesman added that a “token censorship” still exists in Germany and that any copies which arrive there will be liable to confiscation. He could not say whether the censorship is rigorous enough to prevent copies of the fascist sheet from being slipped into Germany, nor was he able to say whether any stops were being taken in England to prevent their being sent out. It is understood that copies of the Flugblatt were to be sent to members of Mosley’s Union Movement who recently enlisted in the occupation forces.
