A pamphlet reviewing the origins of anti-Semitism in the United States, prepared by Dr. Oscar Handlin, a leading social scientist, was published today by the Anti-Defamation League. The author, noting that anti-Semitism “was not woven in with the warp and woof of the cloth, but was imposed later,” expressed the belief that anti-Jewish prejudice on a social level is gradually decreasing. Dr. Handlin pointed out, however, that anti-Semitic groups such as the Christian Front still exist and can still be recognized.
