Jewish displaced persons in Germany have organized an “International Symphony Orchestra” composed of 103 members originating from more than a dozen European countries, it was reported here today.
The I.R.O. is planning to settle the musicians in one camp near here. The agency has also issued an appeal to UNESCO to supply the orchestra with instruments and sheet music. UNESCO previously announced that it would attempt to arrange a tour for the group.
