Asserting that the peace at present is shaky because “of the intrigues of imperialism and polities based on oil and strategic bases,” Frank Goldman, president of B’nai B’rith, urged in a statement issued here today on the occasion of United Nations Day that the world “give more intensified devotion to the implementation” of the U.N. goal.
Ground-breaking ceremonies for a $250,000 building to be erected by the Hillal Foundation on the campus of the University of Illinois were completed last week. Dr. Abram Sachar, president of Brandeis University, and Rabbi Arthur J. Lelyweld, national director of Hillel Foundations, were the principal speakers. The University of Illinois foundation was the first of the 190 such institutions established in the U.S. during the past 25 years.
