Mexico Hails Admission of Israel to Full Participation in International Radio Parley

The admission of Israel to the International High Frequency Radio Conference was termed here today by the Mexican press a great moral victory for the Jewish state. The local newspapers point out that this is especially true in view of the strong opposition voiced by the British and other delegates against admitting the Israeli Director-General for Posts, Telephone and Radio, Zvi Prihar.

The decision to admit Mr. Prihar was reached after the Israeli delegate refused at first to be seated as a technical advisor representing the United Nations. Mr. Prihar’s quiet and tactful diplomacy, coupled with the fact that he stood alone against the full onslaught of the British and several other delegations, won him the support of the U.S., French, Brazilian and other delegates. The Soviet delegate had previously expressed the opinion that Prihar should be admitted without qualifications.
