Failure to bring peace to Palestine was laid at the doorstep of the United Nations by Polish Ambassador Josef Winiewicz and Czecheslovak Ambassador Vladimir Outrata, speaking in the name of their governments at an “Israel Independence Dinner,” held at the Hotel Biltmore under the auspices of the American Committee of Jewish Writers, Artists and Scientists, of which B.Z. Goldberg, well-known Yiddish columnist, is president. The dinner was also addressed by Dr. Moshe Sneh, leader of the left-wing Mapam party in Israel.
