The municipal authorities of Hamburg today appropriated 60,000 marks for the restoration of an ancient Sephardic cemetery at Altona, a suburb of this city.
The request for the appropriation was made by Karl Brauer, mayor of the city. to Jewish community plane to photograph inscriptions on tombstones in order to preserve them for history.
