Hias Adopts $5,000,000 Budget for 1949; Largest in Organization’s 64-year History

The Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society has adopted a budget of $5,005,000 for 1949, the largest in the organization’s 64-year history, it was announced here today by Samuel A. Telsey, president of HIAS.

The sum of $3,950,000 has been earmarked for overseas expenditures, including 425,000 which will be used in Latin America, Samuel Goldstein, treasurer, revealed that HIAS raised over $2,361,000 last year and spent $2,405,000 leaving a $44,000 deficit.
