The DAIA, central representative body of the Jews of Argentina, has asked the government to revoke a several-month-old order establishing a register of non-Catholic institutions, it was revealed here today by DATA leaders.
The organization also announced that since its plea, submitted on Jan. 24, has ##ot yet been answered and since the deadline for registration is only two weeks off, ###t has requested a 90-day extension of the deadline. The reason for the request for delay was stated to be the inability of the Jewish communal organizations to supply the requisite data in so short a time. The protest against the order itself was asked on the DAIA’s belief that it conflicts with the Argentine Constitution.
