Colonial Secretary Arthur Creech-Jones, speaking in Commons last night, emphasized that the transfer of the Cyprus detainees to Israel “was achieved with the full cooperation of the detainees and the Israeli authorities.” Es also paid special tribute to the Joint Distribution Committee and its Cyprus director, Morris Laub, who “neither spared pains nor expense to provide welfare staffs for the detainees.”
