Anti-Semitism still exists in Germany, Dr. Karl Scharnagl, Mayor of Munich, declared here last night. He is one of 39 German municipal, religious and trade union leaders who are visiting the United States to observe democracy at work.

Attributing the anti-Semitic feeling in Germany to the presence of non-German Jews, Dr. Scharnagl said: “It is necessary to work against this feeling. The Nazis persecuted Jews and Christians alike, so we must all cooperate to attain human dignity and rights. It is our responsibility to God and it is the same for all religions.”
