South African Airlines Will Carry 80,000 Displaces Jews from Germany to Israel

An agreement, covering a $1,600,000 contract between the Israeli Government and South African airlines to carry 80,000 displaced Jews from Germany to Haifa, was today reported here “by the United States Department of Commerce.

The Commerce Department report stated that advices reaching the American legation at Pretoria, South Africa, claimed that a contract has been made between a number of world civil airlines, including the South-African International Airline, the Pan-African Air Charter and others with the Israeli Government. The Israeli Government will pay $20 for each passenger transported, the report said.
