German Provincial Council Votes to Pay Indemnification to Victims of Nazi Persecution

A law providing for the payment of indemnification to Jewish persecutes has been passed by the Westphalia council in the British zone of Germany, it was reported from Dusseldorf today.

The council voted to allocate 130,000,000 marks ($3,000,000, at the official rate of exchange) to a special fund for indemnification payments. According to the law, every persecutes will receive 150 marks for each month spent in a concentration camp or labor center.
