Israel will consider it a most serious breach of the Palestine truce if Britain accedes to the Transjordan request to take over military responsibility for the southern Transjordanian-Israeli border, an official Israeli spokesman declared here today.

The spokesman pointed out that if the British patrol the Negev border from Aqaba to the Dead Sea, the Arab Legion forces in that area would be released for use on other fronts. He also denied the recurrent allegations of Israeli crossings of the Transjordan border.
