Israeli Government Spokesman Expresses Satisfaction at Signing of Pact

An Israeli spokesman tonight expressed satisfaction over the signing of the Transjordan-Israeli armistice agreement on the island of Rhodes.

He declared that the signing of the pact signified the beginning of peaceful relations between the two countries and expressed the hope that it would mark the beginning of a period of fruitful cooperation and peace between the two nations. The government and people of Israel, he concluded, are “pleased that the conflicts and differences between the two countries have been satisfactorily settled in a short space of time.”
