NEW YORK (May. 25)
The Alliance Israelite Universelle is contemplating opening schools of higher learning in major Israeli cities, Jules Braunschwig, vice-president of the Alliance, reported here today upon his arrival from Israel.
“Because of the long experience the Alliance has had in the field of education in North Africa and the Hear East, its schools in Israel are particularly suited to facilitate the integration of immigrants from these areas into the life of the new state,” Mr. Braunschwig said. While in Israel, he established a “basis for an agreement with the Israeli Government regarding the Alliance’s elementary schools in the Jewish state.
