More than $2,500,000 was contributed to the United Jewish Appeal of Greater New York last night at a series of dinners held throughout the city. The greatest single amount–well over $750,000–was raised by leaders of the city’s cotton goods industry as a tribute to Charles Cohen, a prominent member of the industry and a founder of the New York U.J.A., who died a week ago.
