Israeli Anbassador Confers with State Dept. Aide on Shipping and Commerce Problems

Israeli Ambassador Eliahu Elath today met with assistant Secretary of State for Economic Affairs Willard Thorpe. A spokesman for the Israeli Embassy said they discussed “problems of commerce and shipping between the two countries.”

The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development today announced that it is sending a mission to Iraq at the request of the Iraqi Government to investigate irrigation and hydro-electric projects in the Tigris and Euphrates Valley. This area has been mentioned by Israeli President Chain Weizmann and U.S. Vice-President Alben ## Barkley as a logical place for the resettlement of Arab refugees from Palestine. The mission will leave for Baghdad Sunday and will remain several weeks.
