Palmach Veterans Establish Settlement on Lebanese-israeli Border; Honor Fallen Comrades

Veterans of the Palmach, the Jewish striking force which distinguished itself during the warfare in Palestine, established a new settlement today in North Central Galilee, on the Lebanese frontier, near the site of a village abandoned during the fighting.

The new settlement will be known as Shefer. A grove was planted in memory of 16 comrades of the settlers who were Killed in the battle of Nebi Yusha.
