ROME (Jul. 10)
More than 23,000 Jewish refugees left Italy for final resettlement in Israel during the first six months of this year, it was reported today.
Although the Jews who sailed from Italian ports for Israel during the first half of this year came from nearly every part of the world, the preponderant majority were of Austrian and Czechoslovak origin. Eleven transports were used for moving the refugees to Israel, in addition to air passage.
