The Polish Government has turned over to the ORT here a sum of 7,000,000 zlotys — about $35,000 at the official exchange rate — for the extension of the organization’s vocational training programs. Previously the ORT received a grant of $85,000 from the government.

The Jewish community of Tarnov, numbering 400 souls, marked the seventh anniversary of the first Nazi pogrom carried out in that town when a total of 25,000 Jews were massacred by the Nazis in one day. Local municipal authorities and representatives of the United Polish Workers Party participated in the memorial service.
