GENEVA (Jul. 27)
Members of various delegations at the current meeting here of the United Nations Economic and Social Council today expressed hope that the Council will accept without debate and refer to the General Assembly the draft proposals for an international convention declaring persons missing as a result of the war and Nazi persecution to be dead.
The problem of stateless parsons, it was learned today, will be considered by the Council at the same time it discusses the future of the International Refugee Organization. It is believed that the British delegation here favors the appointment of a High Commissioner for Refugees to succeed the I.R.O. representatives of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, the World Jewish Congress, the Consultative Council of Jewish Organizations and the Agudah remain here for consultative purposes.
