Israeli Minister of Religion Judah L. Maimon today scored certain non-Jewish circles in the United States and France which he said were spreading lies, insinuations and allegations about the profanation of Christian Holy Places by Israelis. Rabbi Maimon made his charge at a conference with a party of rabbis from various parts of the world who are now visiting the Jewish state.

“Full freedom is assured for all religions in Israel and every possible precaution is taken to protect the Holy Places — whether Christian, Moslem or Jewish.” Nowhere else in the world is there more freedom of religion than in Israel, he declared. He revealed that numerous letters of appreciation had been received by his Ministry from the heads of various churches in Israel.
