A world rabbinical conference will be called in Jerusalem shortly to discuss the establishment of a supreme religious authority, Rabbi Israel Tabak, president of the Rabbinical Assembly of America, today told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency. Rabbi Tabak is head of an Orthodox rabbinical delegation from the United States which has been discussing various religious problems with Israeli religious leaders.

Rabbi Tabak revealed that at a meeting between the delegation and Premier David Ben Gurion, the latter said that Israel hopes to become the spiritual center of world Jewry. The Premier added that he hoped that Torah scholars and spiritual leaders will gather in Israel for “from Zion will go forth the Law.”

When the American delegation arrives home, Rabbi Tabak said, it will call a conference of American rabbis and Jewish community leaders to organize a pilgrimage of some 1,000 persons to Israel for the Succoth festivities.
