Transvaal Nationalist Party Ends Parley Without Taking Up Ban on Jewish Membership

The annual congress of the Transvaal Nationalist Party closed here during the week-end without any discussion of the ban on Jewish membership which currently exists under the group’s constitution.

Some quarters had thought the parley might consider withdrawing the ban, but the party’s secretary, interviewed before the conference began, said that no resolution to this effect had been submitted and added it was unlikely the question would be raised. Jews in other provinces in South Africa are not barred from membership in the Nationalist Party.
