British Police Failed to Make Arrests at Fascist Meetings, Jewish Veterans’ Head Says

Only five arrests were made at a series of 300 fascist meetings held recently in England at which “assertions were made which gave the police powers to arrest the speakers,” Maj. Lionel Rose, director of the Association of Jewish Ex-Servicemen, charged today.

Maj. Rose disclosed that the Association has compiled a dossier of 500 fascist meetings recently held in Britain. At this week’s East End meeting of followers of Sir Oswald Mosley, British fascist leader, the British Anthem was sung to the tune of the Nazi “Horst Wessel” song, he said.
