The Polish authorities will not stand in the way of the migration to Israel of some 2,000 Jewish orphans who were saved by Christians during the war and who are still living with non-Jewish families, or in Catholic Church institutions or in orphanages maintained by the Central Jewish Committee of Poland, it was learned here today.
The Polish Government requires that some close relative now living in Israel make a request that the child be permitted to go to Israel to live with the relative. In addition, the Polish Government will require that a Jewish organization or the Israel consulate here make all arrangements for transportation and cars for the children en route to the Jewish state.
