Trade relations between Rumania and Israel have become cordial despite the absence of a formal agreement, it was learned today.
Besides a visit of an Israel cattle-buying mission, which bought 3,000 goats now being shipped to Haifa along with 500 tons of sugar, representatives of Rumanian nationalized export firms who recently visited Israel reported that they sold a variety of products in Tel Aviv, notably livestock, timber, maize, newsprint and chemicals. About 30 percent of these exports, reportedly valued at $1,000,000 will be paid for with Israel products, mainly essential oils, drugs, sisal cordage and artificial teeth. The rest will be paid for in hard currency.
