A British inspector in the Iraqi Ministry of Interior reported from Bagdad today that 36 Jews, including four women, were arrested by Iraqi police in the past 10 days, Reuters said. The arrests, it was stated, were made during a search in which Iraqi police authorities said they discovered the existence of a Zionist organization.

According to the inspector, the Iraqi police undertook a series of searches after discovering what they said were pamphlets produced in Tel Aviv bearing the title, “Methods of Action.” The inspector said that the Iraqi police inspector-general offered to allow any Jewish physician to examine the arrested Jews for evidence of ill-treatment.
