The first informal meeting of Israel and Transjordan representatives on a special committee set up to speed the reunion in Israel of Arab families separated by the war was held here today. Only a small number of applications for repatriation were received from Arabs in the Jerusalem area.
In Tel Aviv, meanwhile, Col. Aron Remez, commander of the Israel air force, declared that the Jewish state’s air strength may have an important effect on the outcome of the “second round” of warfare which the Arabs states have been threatening recently. Although Col. Remez does not believe that the air arm will decide such a war, he said that the small force could seriously hamper invading units. In connection with the celebration of the anniversary of the establishment of the air force Nov. 3, air demonstrations will be held in various parts of the country and meetings will be held in all large towns and cities.
