Special restitution offices have been opened in 19 cities in the British zone of Germany since the promulgation of a restitution law in the zone, it was reported here today. Sixty thousand applications, asking 1,000,000,000 deutschemarks, have already been filed with these offices.

The eleventh anniversary of the Nazi pogrom of Nov. 10, 1938, was marked in a number of churches and synagogues this week-end with the reading from the pulpit of a special message from the German Societies for Christians and Jews. The message called on the German people to “conquer” all kinds of race hatred and prejudice.
