A resolution urging President Truman to bring the influence of the United States Government to bear at the United Nations so that “the ancient city of Jerusalem, shrine of the Jewish people from the days of their forefathers, shall remain a permanent part of the state of Israel” was adopted at the annual conference of the New England Jewish National Fund yesterday. Some 800 delegates attended the sessions.

Another resolution pledged the region’s support of the J.N.F. plan to purchase 1,000,000 dunams (250,000 acres) of land in Israel next year. The New England region accepted a quota of 3,000 dunams of this total. Fred Monosson was reelected president of the region for the coming year. Among the speakers at the parley were Dr. Israel Goldstein and Mendel Fisher, executive director of the J.N.F. of America.
