Reversing the previous decision of the Legal Committee, the U.N. General Assembly voted to call an international conference on missing persons for April 1, 1950. The new decision represents a victory for Israel’s argument that the Issue should not be indefinitely postponed. The vote on the amended resolution was 29-1, with 15 abstentions.
