Nearly $17,000 was raised here for the Stephen S. Wise Memorial Appeal at a reception arranged by the World Jewish Congress, of which the late Dr. Wise was president, tendered in honor of Mrs. Archibald Silverman, of the United States. Speakers at the function included Dr. Maurice Perlzweig, W.J.C. leader, and Levi Allon, Israel consul here.
