Israel and United States Start Talks in Washington on Aviation Problems Next Week

Talks to adjust various aviation problems between the United States and Israel will begin in Washington next week, it was announced here today. Arieh Pinkus, high official of the Communications Ministry, who is also manager of the government-subsidized El Al airline, will leave for Washington Wednesday.

While in the United States for the talks, Mr. Pinkus will explore the possibility of a new El Al New York to Lydda route. In addition, he will discuss currency problems with the Trans-Western Airlines and will conclude negotiations for the purchase of a plane to replace a four-engine Skymaster recently destroyed in a takeoff accident at Lydda.
