The United Nations Sub-Commission on Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities today adopted an American resolution calling for U.N. Secretary-General Trygve Lie to “make arrangements” with member governments to furnish him with examples of legislation and other measures found useful in preventing discrimination.
The resolution, which was introduced by Jonathan Daniels, American delegation member, and which was carried by a vote of 9-0, with three abstentions, asked that the arrangements be made as soon as practicable, but no later than Dec. 31, 1950. Mr. Lie was also asked to distribute among members of the Sub-Commission a brief summary of the material thus gathered.
